New Roman!

This is my first blog....someone told me I should create a blog since I have moved to Rome, Georgia. Kind of a way for everyone to keep up with our family.

All the chillin's (#'s 1-4) are doing well, making new friends and enjoying their new schools and church. Hubby is staying extremely busy with full time job, commuting to Atlanta atleast three days a week, pastoring a church and going to school on line. But God is good and things are starting to settle somewhat since the move in January. Now if we could just get the house sold in Newnan, we would be doing swell. Two mortgage payments are for the birds!

Alot has happened till this point so I'm going to try to summerize! First off---they have camera enforced lights on some of the red lights up here in Rome. So the first week here they got my picture running a red light and sent me a ticket in the mail. Their way of welcoming me--thanks so much! Atleast they got the tag and not a picture of the driver...they would've seen me wrapping a present (not a joke)! Better still, the tag is in hubby's name so they could not pull my license info. They pulled hubby's. Thank goodness, due to fact I've been driving with a suspended license for over a year now. Let me explain that one.... I had not taken the time in fourteen years of marriage to go and officially change my name on my social security. Apparently, that's a big deal now. When I went in 2006 to get my license renewed, they told me I had 90 days to get my name changed or my license would be suspended. So suspended they were!

Our congregation is wonderful. There are some great people here in the Rome church where hubby pastors. They are all very supportive of him and his ministry. We have just got the ball rolling to sell the parsonage and put towards new property for the church. We hope to relocate the church soon, as right now we are not in the best of locations. We are just waiting on God to open the doors!

I miss everyone something terrible from Newnan... friends and family. I am making some great new friends here but it all takes time you know. I thought, "what would make me feel a little less lonely?" I went to the animal shelter and rescued me a pup. (much to hubby's dismay). I told the chillins we would all have to agree on the same one before we got him/her, and we would need to look for the ugliest one in there because that one's chance of survival would be the slimmest. You know, there wasn't one ugly one...so we decided on a pup that looked to be about 10 weeks old and was hiding behind a big ol black dog in the very last cage. The lady had to actually climb in the stinking cage to get him out. He was blond like a yellow lab with a black face of a German sheperd.(Cute mix actually) He looked to be healthy, so we went to the bonding room to make sure he wasn't an attack pup--and we were off! We talked about names on the way home, looking at street signs, store signs ect. The name Cooper (from Cooper Tires) stuck. Oh I forgot to tell you, hubby didn't make the trip to the shelter with us, thus not getting to bond with Cooper right away. (another story for another time)

I'm going to save the rest for another blog so as not to bore! Stay tuned...
