Trouble with the law...again!

Ha. Did I get your attention? Some of you know that I got a speeding ticket on New Year's Eve going to Kennesaw to do a good deed. I was going down Hwy. 75 in hubby's truck, jamming to Journey, not paying attention to my speedometer.(sp?) I didn't hear the sirens, but the blue lights definitely got my attention. I pulled over and watched in my rearview mirror as "Roscoe P Co Train" got out of his car and walked toward the truck. I giggled nervously as I thought about what I could say..."I'm in labor...Could you make this quick?" but he was at my door before I could come up with a believable excuse. "What's your hurry", he asked? I smiled in disbelief when he told me how fast I was going, and I replied, "Are you sure about that, because this truck doesn't go that fast. When's the last time you had that radar gun serviced?" Not really that last part...(about the radar gun, but I was thinking it.) I sat and waited, turning up the "Journey" CD as he went back to his car to write my ticket. (still giggling nervously inbetween singing notes to "I"m forever yours, FaithfullY..." Anyway, I wished him a Happy New Year's and I was off. I stuffed the ticket in my two foot deep black purse and forgot about it...thus forgetting my court date, and payment of ticket...oops! Hubby, the reposible adult in our relationship, thankfully, reminded me of it, but I had already missed my court date. I was able to get online and pay it with a big fat late fee. But not before they suspended my license..uurgh! So now, I'm just having to go to the trouble of proof of payment to the Bartow County Court to clear everything up(because of my irresponsibility in the first place.) I'm really hoping to outgrow this "stage" soon, as it's bothering my hubby deeply.

I understand how easy it is to speed to Journey.
